Luftgekühlt has become one of the Porsche community’s most celebrated gatherings, bringing together iconic air-cooled cars with the people, craftsmanship, and stories surrounding them.
For the second edition of the Luftgekühlt Book, I worked alongside Creative Director Jeff Zwart to transform the spirit of the event into a 248-page collectible publication. Combining original photography, archival material, historical content, and editorial storytelling, the book was designed to extend the Luftgekühlt experience well beyond a single weekend.

Context
The publication brought together a substantial volume of work from multiple photographers and contributors. The challenge was to organize feature stories, archival imagery, historical details, and technical content into a cohesive experience without allowing the book to feel crowded or repetitive.
Every design decision needed to reflect the premium character of the Luftgekühlt brand while keeping the cars, photography, and stories at the center of the experience.
Approach
Working with Jeff Zwart and the editorial team, I helped develop a flexible editorial system built around disciplined grids, clean typography, generous white space, and considered image sequencing.
Rather than treating each spread as an isolated composition, we approached the book as a complete visual narrative. Immersive, full-bleed photography was balanced with quieter editorial moments to establish pacing and rhythm across nearly 250 pages. Typography, hierarchy, chapter transitions, and page composition were carefully coordinated to create an experience that felt cinematic, refined, and distinctly Luftgekühlt.
Outcome
The finished book became more than a record of the event—it became a lasting extension of the Luftgekühlt brand and a collectible piece of Porsche culture.
The initial print run sold out, leading to a second printing to meet continued demand. Its reception demonstrated how thoughtful editorial design could translate the energy of a physical event into an enduring brand experience.
